School Council Visit the Town Hall

Representatives from our School Council visited Bexhill Town Hall. They were greeted by Cllr Bayliss and Cllr McCourt who were able to answer questions about how the local council is run and the priorities for Bexhill.  The children were particularly keen to ask questions about pot holes in Buckhurst Road and the impact that extra housing is having on the wildlife.

School Council meet local MP, Dr Kieran Mullan

Dr Kieran Mullan, our Bexhill MP, visited school to speak with our School Council about his job and responsibilities.  The children were also able to ask questions and focused these on the priorities for Bexhill and the challenges of being an MP.  Dr Mullan told the children about his job and how he works to benefit Bexhill.

School Council visit Bay House Care Home

The School Council enjoyed a wonderful visit to Bay House Care Home. The children spent time chatting with the residents and were treated to squash and cake. They shared stories about life at school and, in return, learned a little about the residents' own experiences - one resident was 100 years old!  The children are very much looking forward to further visits.

School Council make a donation to Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary

School Council challenged the teachers to collect animal treats and toys for Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary.  Ole and Brandon took the huge number of items collected by staff to the Animal Sanctuary and got to meet Barby herself. They also had an opportunity to feed the many chickens and cockerels roaming the sanctuary!
